15 Concept Cars That Will Make A Car Lover Drool (Continue)

8. Volvo Concept Estate

Hinting to its Swedish roots is the Volvo Concept Estate. The car is, according to Volvo,
“A powerful silhouette of bold proportions, with a vivid, bright and cosy interior—a nod to the Swedish living room, a place that makes you feel so comfortable you’re reluctant to leave.” The two-door estate is the third and final model in a series of concept cars by Volvo. Its build is similar to Volvos past, but this is a truly modern car. From high-quality materials to the utilization of Volvo’s Drive-E, Sensus, and IntelliSafe innovations, this ride is an example of what’s to come in Volvo’s future.

9. Lamborghini Asterion LPI 910-4

It should come as no surprise that there are three Lamborghini concept cars on this list. Basically, all of their cars are dream cars. The Asterion made an appearance at the 2014 Paris auto show and was one of the biggest surprises. It features a 602-hp 5.2-liter V-10 engine, has 897 horsepower, and can get from 0 to 62 mph in a three seconds. It’s top speed is 199 and it comes in the eye-catching Blue Elektra color. The one trademark Lamborghini trait it’s missing is sharp edges, but everything else is Lamborghini to a tee.

10. Audi Prologue

As the first concept to debut since Marc Lichte took over at Audi design in 2014, the Prologue gives a peak as to what’s to come from the brand. A wide, flat, touch-sensitive organic-LED dash and a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 are just a couple modern touches. It also boasts an eight-speed torque converter automatic and has 605 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. Audi claims that the car can get from 0 to 62 mph in 3.7 seconds. The car made it’s debut at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show and of the car Lichte says “Audi stands for sportiness, lightweight design and the quattro permanent all-wheel drive. In the Audi Prologue, we are expressing this know-how in a new form – we have put the sportiest car in the luxury segment on wheels. Our team took new approaches in both exterior and interior design.” the Prologue is shorter and flatter than today’s A8 but, like all recent Audi vehicles, has all-wheel steering, making it more stable to drive.

11. Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo

While the opposite is usually the norm, this car is based on one made for a video game. If you’re an avid gamer then this concept car is probably your dream car. The car was originally made in digital form for Gran Truism 6 in its Vision Gran Turismo digital collection and was brought to life as a concept car to pay tribute to the Chaparral race cars from decades past. Chevy is just one of the automakers that created full-size versions of their virtual cars. The Chaparral has a 1.5-second zero to 60 time and can go up to 240 mph.

12. Toyota FT-1

The 2015 Chicago Auto Show gave sports car enthusiasts the chance to view Toyota’s FT-1 concept car up close. The beautiful opulent graphite and saddle color combination is just one impressive component of the vehicle. The muscular body is reminiscent of past Toyota models but other design elements, like the transparent glass hood, are all new. Unfortunately, though rumors said otherwise, the concept car did not come to life in the brand’s Supra model and will have to remain only a dream for now. Besides, not all specs were figured out. While the cockpit’s far rearward location was meant to improve weight distribution and the car seemed technologically advanced, no engine was specified nor were any horsepower or mph figures.

13. Corvette Stingray Concept

If you remember Sideswipe from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, then you know this is what the character transformed into. The Corvette Stingray Concept was built to celebrate 50 years of the Stingray model. Some features nod to the original car(like the split rear window), but it also has unique touches like scissor-style doors, rear view camera with night vision and a hybrid engine. The car debuted at the 2009 Chicago Auto Show and in 2013, it was announced the concept car would become a reality with the production of the 2014 Corvette Stingray. Unfortunately, some of the concept’s features didn’t make the grade and the 2014 Corvette Stingray is missing the scissor-opening doors and split rear window among other details.

14. Maserati Birdcage 75th

The Maserati Birdcage 75th, a concept car created and designed by a Pininfarina design team, was first introduced at the 2005 Geneva Auto Show. It was named to honor both the classic Maserati Birdcages of the 1960s and Pininfarina’s 75th anniversary. The Birdcage 75th shares elements with the Maserati MC12 GT1 race car like the engine, for instance. It’s powered by the Ferrari/Maserati F140 V12 engine which has been customized for the Birdcage and produces around 700 horsepower. The six-month production and design process of the car was documented and created into the film “Sleek Dreams.” If brought to reality, the driver would have visibility problems and a bit of a tough time getting in as the car has no doors. Instead, the bubble canopy can be raised for entrance.

15. Aston Martin AMV10

While the Vanquish concept has come a long way since its AMV8 origins, this concept car designed by Sabino Design still impresses. The car was in part inspired by the Jaguar XJ 220 which explains the layout(one that features a central engine) which is nothing like the AMV 8. This car features a V10 engine(with 700 hp) which had never been used by Aston before. The year 2013 marked a century of Aston Martin and so the Vanquish was born. The recent 2015 Vanquish(AMV12) is equipped with an AM29 V12 engine, the most powerful GT production engine ever used by Aston Martin. The 658 hp car that reaches 201 mph and can go fro zero to sixty in 3.6 seconds is described as a “Super Grand Tourer.”
